About Us
CMB is a full-service custom market research and strategy firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. As a Top 25 Insights & Analytics company, we’re known for our relentless business-decision focus and cutting-edge creativity. Our passion is helping the world’s leading brands engage, innovate, and grow. We invest in ongoing AI-driven solutions and combine this with the best of advanced analytics, consumer psychology, and market strategy to tackle game-changing initiatives and business challenges for our clients.

What about our culture?  Simply put, our people are our power.  At CMB, we’re proud to be certified as a Great Place to Work, a recognition that reflects the diverse, inclusive, and collaborative environment our team creates every day. We bring together bright perspectives and curious minds who challenge assumptions, share ideas, and push one another to be better.

Innovation is deeply embedded in how we work. That commitment has earned us recognition as one of the GRIT Top 50 Most Innovative Companies, and it shows up daily in how we approach research, insights, and client impact. At CMB, you’ll have meaningful opportunities to achieve your full potential — from learning new skills and expanding your expertise to advancing your career in an environment where you are supported, valued, and encouraged to innovate.

Our benefits say a lot about how much we value our employees: we offer a fully paid sabbatical, an annual wellness day, paid time off to volunteer, generous medical plans, a 401k match, and more. Every employee also gets to enjoy an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP).

ESOP?  Yes, we are 100% employee owned! An ESOP is a qualified retirement plan, similar to a 401k, but you don’t have to make any financial contributions to participate in the rewards. When we each work hard to provide exceptional service and deliverables to our clients, the positive performance of the company increases the value of our stock and enables the accumulation of wealth for all our employee-owners.

About the Position
At CMB, the application of Behavioral Psychology and Advanced Analytics underpins our approach to uncovering deep consumer insights that help our clients make decisions with confidence. Intelligent Signals, CMB's AI-powered market intelligence platform, is an important new extension of that approach, combining multi-channel signal ingestion, an AI agent layer, and insight orchestration to help clients act on market signals faster and with more confidence.

Working on the Applied Innovation team and closely with CMB’s VP of Applied Innovation, the Product Manager will help shape the product vision and strategy, and will own product requirements, the roadmap, and go-to-market execution for Intelligent Signals as it grows from its first client deployment into a scalable, sellable CMB product. This includes defining requirements and priorities, packaging the product for repeatable delivery across clients, and partnering with Sales and Client Services to bring the product to market. Technical architecture and engineering are led by PD&I and third-party development partners, with the Product Manager representing client and market needs in those decisions. The Product Manager will spend most of their time on Intelligent Signals and the remaining time supporting broader CMB product management needs for AI Solutions.
This position offers the opportunity to help lead a new growth area for CMB and shape how its AI products are built, packaged, and brought to market, working at the intersection of applied AI, market research, and client strategy with broad exposure across the CMB organization. This position reports to the VP of Applied Innovation and works collaboratively with other teams, including, but not limited to, Product Development & Innovation (PD&I), Advanced Analytics & Data Strategy, Growth Strategy, individual client-facing project teams, and third-party development partners.
This role can be hybrid in Boston, or remote in the US.

About You
You're energized by taking something promising and bringing it to life. You naturally think in terms of roadmaps, requirements, and trade-offs, but you never lose sight of the client problem the product will solve. Whether you're representing client needs in a conversation with engineers or working with Sales to shape how a new capability is positioned, you know how to translate between technical possibility and business value.

You're comfortable leaning into ambiguity. Growing a product from its first client deployment into a repeatable, sellable solution can mean making decisions without a playbook, and you have a track record of approaching that responsibility with curiosity and rigor rather than hesitation. Colleagues trust your judgment because you back it with data, and clients and internal partners alike value how clearly you communicate complex ideas.

About Your Background
You've built your career in product management or product ownership, ideally with B2B data, analytics, or insights products, and you've taken products to market. You know how to define requirements, manage a backlog, and work with sales and client teams to shape a roadmap, and you've supported go-to-market through positioning, sales enablement, and client demos. You're familiar with AI-powered products, such as LLM-based agents or natural language processing, and comfortable discussing capabilities and tradeoffs with technical partners. Exposure to APIs, system integrations, or data pipelines is a plus, but you don't need to be an engineer: technical architecture is led by our PD&I team and development partners. What matters is that you understand the platform well enough to explain it credibly to clients and to weigh how technical constraints affect scope, cost, and timeline.

You thrive at the intersection of strategy and execution — equally comfortable with establishing a long-term vision as you are with rolling up your sleeves to get a release out the door. You've successfully worked cross-functionally with Engineering, Data Science, Sales, Marketing, and Client Services teams before, and you know how to influence outcomes without formal authority over the people involved.

  • Develops and facilitates ongoing training on Intelligent Signals for internal teams, including competitive context and relevant industry developments
  • Aligns sales tools and the sales process to how clients evaluate and buy an AI-powered intelligence product
Operationalization and Rollout
  • Co-designs and facilitates the move from a single-client deployment to a repeatable, sellable product, including onboarding, client configuration, and ongoing support processes
  • Proactively identifies and helps resolve issues that could impair Intelligent Signals' ability to scale or meet its strategic, financial, or operational objectives
Technical Partnership
  • Represents client and market requirements as PD&I and third-party development partners determine which parts of the architecture are reusable across clients versus client-specific
  • Builds enough working knowledge of the platform (signal sources, AI agents, and analytics) to explain it credibly to clients and understand how technical constraints affect scope, cost, and timeline
General Product Management
  • Supports product management activities across CMB's broader product portfolio as needed, consistently applying rigor and process
  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of CMB's products, methodologies, and the industries CMB serves
  • Researches and analyzes competitor products, positioning, and pricing relevant to CMB's portfolio
  • Collaborates with other functions and CMB leadership on a shared vision across products and solutions
  • Identifies and implements new ways for the product function to add value or streamline how CMB approaches product-related business issues
  • Translates individual client needs into longer-term product enhancements that can be leveraged across multiple clients and programs
Other Essential Duties

  • Contributes to a team and/or committee for ongoing CMB initiatives
  • Participates in peer reviews in a timely manner
  • Plans and executes initiatives, as assigned
  • Provides prompt, courteous, and exemplary service to all internal and external customers, consistent with CMB's values
  • Partners with colleagues across the ITA Enterprise to stay current on opportunities for cross-company collaboration

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in product ownership or product management, with a track record of successfully taking products to market, ideally for B2B data, analytics, or insights products
  • Experience defining product requirements, managing a backlog, and working with sales and client teams to shape a roadmap
  • Experience supporting go-to-market for B2B products, including positioning, sales enablement, and client demos
  • Familiarity with AI-powered products (e.g., LLM-based agents or natural language processing), enough to discuss capabilities and tradeoffs with technical partners
  • Comfort working with data and dashboards, and translating signal and analytics output into client-facing value
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to partner across teams (Sales, Marketing, Client Services, Engineering, Data Science) and influence without direct authority
  • Capable of being creative while analytically evaluating challenges to develop client-focused solutions; strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to support decisions and build business cases
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager/owner mentality
  • Exposure to APIs, system integrations, or data pipelines a plus (technical architecture is led by PD&I and development partners)
  • Experience with multi-tenant or configurable software products a plus

Expires 07/31/2029
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
