About the Position
Are you ready to level up your career in market research? Our growing team is looking for the next generation of Qualitative Researchers to work with the world’s leading brands. The Qualitative Research Specialist understands human behavior and how emotions and values drive decisions for our clients. This person has strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. They possess the demonstrated ability to build positive relationships, provide outstanding customer service, and excel in organization and time management. This position spans both project/field management and qualitative research consulting, and offers an opportunity to explore growth opportunities in project management or moderating.  

This role reports to a dedicated Qualitative Research Team Manager collaborating remotely and supports successful client-project delivery across the company. A structured skills training program is provided which offers introductions and access to Subject Matter Experts throughout CMB.

Responsibilities and Expectations
Qualitative Services Team
  • Adhere to CMB’s defined approaches, processes, and best practices  

  • Contribute to CMB's culture of innovation and thought leadership  

  • Follow CMB- and client-specific Information Security Policies 

  • Take advantage of training and development opportunities 

  • Contributes to a team and/or committee for ongoing CMB initiatives 

  • Is active and engaged in broader community  

  • Ensure end-to-end client/project delivery in alignment with Sales & Account Management leading to high client satisfaction with project deliverables 

Essential Duties
  • Effectively drives and owns relationships with vendors, moderators, peers, senior staff, and other teams 

  • Serves as day-to-day contact for clients across a variety of qualitative research engagements, specifically managing the kick-offs, project and field management with the client  

  • Moderates online boards and telephone IDIs independently, moving towards in person moderating 

  • Participates in analysis and reporting of results including client presentations 

  • As needed, drafts screeners, manages recruits, and collaborates on discussion guide writing  

  • Participates in the proposal development process (e.g., schedule, pricing, recruiting specification) 

  • Effectively communicates with other project team members and external resources 

  • Is curious and open to new techniques and willing to apply them to projects 

  • Anticipates and identifies project problems and finds solutions independently  

  • Presents a CMB University case study annually 

  • Participates in moderator training 

  • Participates in peer reviews in a timely manner 

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Market-Research, Anthropology, Behavioral Psychology or related field 

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in qualitative market research 

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience independently managing qualitative projects duties 

  • Exposure to in-person, telephone, and online moderating with individuals and groups 

  • Excellent at establishing and managing relationships with clients, vendors and coworkers 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with limited supervision 

  • Excellent at establishing and managing relationships with clients, vendors and coworkers 

  • Is detail-oriented and can work on multiple projects at a time 

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software environment 

  • Sense of humor and self-aware

The annual base salary range for this position is $61,400-$70,000 plus bonus, benefits, and an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). The base salary is dependent on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) experience, expertise, skills, and employee's location.
